 Membership 

What are the different types of memberships offered on Parentainment.com?

There are two types of memberships on Parentainment.com:  Parent Members and Service Provider Members.

 

Parent Members are single or couple parents.  Their profile includes as much information about themselves and their children that they wish to enter.  

 

Service Providers can include babysitters, housekeepers, caterers, event planners, personal care providers, etc.  Their profile includes information about their services such as type of service, availability and cost.

 

Both types of members have access to all site features with the exception of Parent Matching.  Parent Matching is only available for Parent Members.

 

How old do I have to be to join?

You must be 18 years or older to join Parentainment.com. 

 

How much does it cost to join?

Membership is free to all members!

 

I joined but did not receive my activation email.  How can I activate my account?

You must activate your account via an activation email.  If you do not receive an activation email, you can request another one by signing into your account.  You will be prompted to re-enter your email address and another activation email will be sent to this email address.

Can I control who has access to my profile information?

Yes, you can control who can see your profile information within ‘MEMBER SETTINGS’.  There are four different settings that allow you to manage who sees your information:

 How do I stop receiving email notifications from Parentainment.com?

You will receive email notifications to your personal email address for activity that occurs within your membership such as event invitations, social circle invitations, new messages, etc.  You can stop receiving the notifications by setting 'Email Notifications' in your 'Member Settings' to No.  You can change it back to Yes should you change your mind.

 

How do I stop receiving Parentainment.com newsletters?

You can opt out of receiving Parentainment.com by setting 'Email Opt In' in your 'Member Settings' to No.  You can change it back to Yes should you change your mind.

 

How do I delete my membership?

We don't want to see you go!  But if you must, you can delete your membership with Member Settings  Please make sure you are ready to leave as your account will be removed immediately and we will not be able to reinstate it.

 

 Social Circle 

 What is my Social Circle?

Your Social Circle contains your Parent Member and Service Provider Member connections.  It is similar to Friends Lists on other social networking sites.

 

How do I invite another member to join my Social Circle?

First, find the member’s profile using the Member Search feature.  Open up their profile by clicking on their Username in the search results.  Next, click on the Social Circle Invitation tab.  A window will popup that allows you to add a personal comment to the invitation.  Hit the SUBMIT button and your Social Circle invitation will be sent to the member.

 

How do I introduce one member of my Social Circle to another?

Find the member in your Social Circle list.  Click on the ‘Make Introduction’ link.  You will have the option to introduce the member to all members of your Social Circle or to select members of your Social Circle.  Enter your personal message and hit send.  The introduction will be sent to the members.

 

How do I block another member from seeing my profile?

First, find the member’s profile using the Member Search feature.  Open up their profile by clicking on their Username in the search results.  Next, click on the Block tab.  The member is now blocked from viewing your profile. 

 

How do I unblock another member and allow them to see my profile?

Click on the ‘Social Circle’ menu header and then on ‘Social Circle Activity’.  You can view the members you have blocked by clicking on the ‘Blocked Users’ tab.  Find the member you wish to unblock and then click on the ‘Unblock’ link that is next to their Username.   

 

How do I view the Social Circle Invitations I have sent or received from other members?

Click on the ‘Social Circle’ menu header and then on ‘Social Circle Activity’.  You can view your invitations by clicking on the ‘Invitations’ tab. 

 

How do I view the Social Circle Introductions I have received from other members?

Click on the ‘Social Circle’ menu header and then on ‘Social Circle Activity’.  You can view your introductions by clicking on the ‘Introductions’ tab. 

  Message Center

What is the Message Center?

The Message Center is a place for members to send messages to each other.

 

How do I send a message to another member?

Click on the ‘Message Center’ menu header and then on the ‘Compose’ tab.  You can send a message to all members of your Social Circle or to select members of your Social Circle.  Enter a subject and the message.  Hit the ‘SEND’ button and your message will be sent to the recipients.

 

Can I send message to friends who are not members of Parentainment.com?

No, messages can only be sent to Parentainment.com members.

 

How do I read messages sent to me by other members?

Click on the ‘Message Center’ menu header and then on the ‘Inbox’ tab.  All messages sent to you are kept in your inbox until you delete them.

 

How do I read messages I sent to other members?

Click on the ‘Message Center’ menu header and then on the ‘Sent’ tab.  All messages you sent are kept here until you delete them.

 

How do I read messages I deleted?

Click on the ‘Message Center’ menu header and then on the ‘Trash’ tab.  All messages you deleted are kept here until you permanently delete them.  Messages can no longer be viewed once you permanently delete them.

 Groups

How do pull up Group Details?

Find the Group using ‘Browse Categories’ and open up the group details by clicking on the Group Name. 

 

How do I join a Group?

Find the Group using ‘Browse Categories’ and open up the group details by clicking on the Group Name.  Click on the ‘Join This Group’ tab.  If the Group requires Group Owner approval, you will be included in the Group once your request to join has been approved.  If no approval is required, you will be included in the Group immediately.  

 

Where can I see a list of the Groups I have joined?

Click on the ‘Groups’ menu header and then on the ‘My Groups’ tab.  Next click on ‘My Joined Groups’.  You will see a listing of the Groups you created. 

 

How do I create a Group?

Click on the ‘Groups’ menu header and then on the ‘CREATE GROUP’ button.   You will then need to enter information about the Group and you can optionally upload an image for the Group.

 

How do I edit a Group I created?

Click on the ‘Groups’ menu header and then on the ‘My Groups’ tab.  Next click on ‘My Own  Groups’.  You will see a listing of the Groups you created.  Find the Group you want to edit.  Click on the Edit link and you will be taken to the Edit Group page.

 

How do I approve requests to join a Group I own?

Click on the ‘Groups’ menu header and then on the ‘My Own Groups’ tab.  You will see a listing of  the Groups you created.  Find the Group and click on the ‘View Join Requests’.  You will be taken to the ‘Pending Join Requests’ page. 

 

How do I create a Group Forum?

All members of a Group can start a Group Forum.  Pull up the Group Details for the Group and then click on the ‘ADD NEW TOPIC’ button in the Group Forum section.

 

 

Metro Events 

 

How are the different search options for a Metro Event?

There are several options for searching for Metro Events.  You can use one option to get many events or several options to narrow your search.  The options are:

 

Keyword:                       Enter a specific keyword.

Zip Code or City, State:   Enter either Zip Code or City, State.

Category:                       Select a category from the drop down list.

In Between Dates:           Enter either Start Date or Date Range.

Within:                           Select the number of miles within the range of the location.

 

How are the Metro Events sorted in the search results?

Metro Events are sorted by “popularity”.  Eventful.com uses a proprietary formula to assign the popularity of an event; this enables us to display the most interesting events first.

 

How do I find out more details for a Metro Event, such as Venue or Cost?

Click on the link ‘More Event Details’ when you are in the Metro Event Details view.  A new window will open that will take you to the event details on the Eventful.com site. 

 

 

Invite Friends 

How do I invite my friends to become members of Parentainment.com?

Click on the ‘INVITE FRIENDS’ menu header.  You will be able to enter your friend’s email addresses separated by a comma or to import their email addresses from your address book.  You can also enter your own personal message and then hit the ‘SUBMIT’ button to send the invitation to your friends.
